We’ve teamed up with Artfinder – the online affordable art marketplace – to showcase artists who we think deserve to be seen by a wider audience. Our second choice is Nicola Albon, whose candid photographs capture London life ‘as it is lived’…

Nicola says of her work:

I started photographing at night out of necessity. With a day job I didn’t have very many daylight hours in which to go out with my camera. In cold winter weather, people don’t tend to spend much time on the streets, so I had to turn my camera to where they were – indoors. This has become the project “London Through the Window“.

The urban environment is a fascinating place in which to study people and I like to photograph them when they are not expecting to be photographed. I want to capture real life as it is lived and portray people honestly.
