The Dabbler is delighted to present this splendid 10-minute animated film by Sharon Smith. It is an adaptation of a tale by our own Frank Key, is narrated by him, and has been screened at film festivals and competitions all over the world, including Annecy, Edinburgh, Brazil and last month’s Raindance in London.

Sharon, aka Miss HatHorn has worked as a 2D animator and story artist for many top studios and film makers including Mark Baker, Tim Burton, Richard Purdum, Richard Williams, Studio AKA and Passion Pictures, and has worked on movies including Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie.     This is stunningly good. I love Sharon Smith’s additions too – the goat and the crossword especially.

    Future animators will surely find endless material in the Hooting Yard oeuvre…

    Deserves a wide audience and commercial success, who was the casting director? if there is a remake of The Clangers the chicken is a natural for the part.
