Glengoyne Comment of the Month Winner – September 2011

Every month we award a bottle of Glengoyne 10 year old single malt – the finest whisky available to humanity – to a commenter who tickles our fancy…

There’s very little in life that wouldn’t be improved with a bit of running commentary – sex, supermarket shopping and child birth to name but a few; so every day we happily leave the doors of The Dabbler open to whomsoever should happen to mooch past and stick in their ha’pence worth. We’re lucky to have such a fine cadre of commentators, and we treasure each and every one. Ensuring that particularly fine comments receive a particularly fine prize, we award a golden bottle of Glengoyne 10 year old single malt to the best each month. This month’s winner is Jane, who leapt into the fray on Brit’s review of Downton Abbey, pointing out that

..in the first episode, m’lady objects to her gel going off to do the nursing thing, and nobody mentions, as surely they would have done, that she’s AMERICAN and they hadn’t joined in yet.

and then delivering the coup de grâce with

Description of Downton Abbey by Sam Wollaston in The Guardian: “Howards’ Way masquerading as Howards End”.

which sort of summed things up perfectly. Top quoting, Jane! Your bottle is in the post.

Don’t forget that to be in with a chance of getting your hands on a beautiful bottle of Glengoyne we need your comments – in true Dabbler spirit there’s no particular criteria, so do feel free to join in!
