The Stranger’s Child winners; Become a Dabbler book reviewer!

This month’s Dabbler Book Club choice is Alan Hollinghurst’s much-anticipated The Stranger’s Child.

The Book Club members (join here if you haven’t already!) drawn at random to receive a free copy are:

Jo McPherson of Crawley; Cathy James of Grays; Sarah Parker of Bedford; Jamie Glew of Gosforth; Moira Douglas of Preston; Glenn Marshall of High Barnet; Ursula Coggins of Falmouth; Tracy Nixon of Whitley Bay; Graham Kerr of Lincoln; and Charles Snee of Ohio, USA.

Meanwhile, the League of Dabblers winners are Recusant and Jonathan Law. (If you want a vastly greater chance of winning the monthly book plus loads of other books and goodies, show your support for the Dabbler by joining the League now!)

Congratulations to them – Pan MacMillan will be posting them out shortly. For everyone else, you can buy a copy at Amazon or from any good bookshop. We’ll be reviewing it in early September – do join in with your comments.

Wanted – Book Reviewers!

Would you like to review books on The Dabbler? We get offered far more review copies of new releases than the editors can possibly read. So we’re looking to establish a roster of Book Club members who will contribute quality posts for us.

What’s in it for you? Free books, surprising influence and a decent audience for your opinions. You’ll also get to choose which books you’d like to read, so no slogging through things you wouldn’t dream of buying. In return, we’ll ask you to provide reviews within a reasonable timescale.

If you’re interested in becoming a Dabbler Book Club Reviewer, email editorial@thedabbler.co.uk, putting “DBC Reviewers” in the subject line, and we’ll let you know the details as they become available. If you can point us to a blog or examples of reviews you’ve written previously, all the better.

Hope you all enjoy The Stranger’s Child, it’s a good idea and Hollinghurst writes wonderfully. I’ve just finished reading and reviewing (http://tinyurl.com/4xwxdpp) – it’d be great to know what other people made of it!
